Accessibility Statement

Sport is for everyone. So is our site.

Last updated: 30 April 2026

Our Commitment

World Sports Day is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. Our target is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standard across every page.

Accessibility is part of how we plan, design, and review work, not a checklist we run at the end. As we add features and content, we audit them against the same standard so the experience stays inclusive.

Features

The following measures are built into the current site to support a wide range of visitors and assistive technologies:

  • Keyboard navigation: every interactive element can be reached and operated using a keyboard alone, with a clear and visible focus indicator.
  • Semantic HTML: headings, landmarks, lists, and form controls use the correct elements so screen readers can describe the page accurately.
  • ARIA labels: we add ARIA attributes only where native HTML cannot convey the purpose of an element, for example on icon-only buttons.
  • Alt text: every meaningful image has descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are marked so screen readers ignore them.
  • Colour contrast: body text and interactive elements meet or exceed the WCAG 2.2 AA contrast ratios. Information is never conveyed by colour alone.
  • Resizable text: the layout reflows cleanly when text is enlarged up to 200%, without losing content or functionality.
  • Reduced motion: we respect the prefers-reduced-motion setting in your operating system and minimise non-essential motion when it is enabled.

Known Issues

We are not aware of any significant accessibility issues on the site at this time. If you do encounter something that prevents you from using a page, please tell us using the contact details below so we can fix it.

Feedback

Your feedback helps us improve. If you have a question, suggestion, or want to report a barrier you have hit, please email hello@worldsportsday.com. When reporting an issue, it helps to include the page URL, a short description of what happened, and the browser or assistive technology you were using.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within five working days.
